New research publication! Platform work is one of the most visible ways in which we work with AI. So will we also have an ‘Uber for healthcare’? And how are nurses and care workers affected by platforms? Led by Justien Dingelstad, and together with Iris Wallenburg, we show that on the one hand, platforms allow nurses to renegotiate existing, gendered scripts of altruism and self-sacrifice. On the other hand, it normalises individualised risks and unpaid work.
